The second edition of the JustNet Transport Summit, organised by JustAlive Communications Limited, publishers of JustNet News, is scheduled to hold on October 23, 2026, in Lagos, with stakeholders expected to deliberate on strategies for building a more resilient transportation system.

The one-day summit will be under the theme: “Navigating Global Disruptions and the Road Ahead: Mobility, Energy and Trade Facilitation for a Resilient Future.”

The event is expected to bring together policymakers, regulators, operators, industry leaders, investors and other stakeholders across the aviation, road transportation, maritime, rail, energy and logistics sectors.

According to the organisers, the summit is designed to provide a platform for stakeholders across the various modes of transportation to examine the challenges confronting the sector and identify practical measures for improving efficiency, resilience and sustainability.

Managing Director of JustAlive Communications Limited, Mrs Pearl Ngwama, said the summit would provide an opportunity for industry players and policymakers to engage on emerging issues affecting Nigeria’s transportation ecosystem.

Ngwama said the discussions would focus on strengthening collaboration among stakeholders while addressing challenges relating to mobility, infrastructure, energy security, trade facilitation and the effects of global disruptions on transportation.

She said the objective was to facilitate robust discussions capable of producing actionable recommendations that could contribute to the development of a more efficient, sustainable and future-ready transport sector.

The theme of the summit reflects the increasing interconnection between transportation, energy and trade, particularly as disruptions in one area can affect the efficiency and cost of movement across other parts of the economy.

For Nigeria, the organisers said, improving the resilience of the transport system requires greater coordination among the different modes of transportation, as well as closer engagement between government, regulators and private-sector operators.

The summit is therefore expected to provide an avenue for stakeholders to examine how transportation infrastructure, energy availability, logistics systems and trade processes can be strengthened to support economic activities.

Discussions are also expected to examine the implications of global developments on Nigeria’s transportation sector and how industry players can better prepare for emerging disruptions.

The organisers said the decision to convene the second edition followed the success of the maiden summit held in 2025.

The inaugural event provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss critical issues affecting Nigeria’s transportation industry, while encouraging interaction among players from different segments of the sector.

Building on that platform, the 2026 edition is expected to broaden participation and deepen conversations around the challenges and opportunities shaping the country’s transportation future.

Beyond policy discussions, the summit is also expected to highlight areas where greater collaboration and investment could improve the movement of people and goods across the country.

Particular attention is expected to be given to the need for efficient infrastructure, reliable energy supply and effective trade facilitation, which remain important to the performance of transportation and logistics operations.

JustNet News, a digital news platform published by JustAlive Communications Limited, focuses its editorial coverage on aviation, maritime, waterways, rail and road transportation.

Through the summit, the organisation seeks to extend its role as a platform for engagement among stakeholders across Nigeria’s transportation industry.

The 2026 edition is expected to provide an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, examine emerging trends and policy developments, and consider investment opportunities capable of supporting a more connected and resilient transportation system.

The organisers said the outcome of the discussions would be geared towards practical recommendations that could support stakeholders in navigating current challenges while preparing the sector for future disruptions.
