The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, SAN, has received the Christian Icon Award from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) as part of activities marking the association’s 50th anniversary.

Keyamo received the award on Saturday at a ceremony held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, which brought together political leaders, religious authorities, government officials and other dignitaries to celebrate CAN’s five decades of existence.

The golden jubilee celebration was attended by Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, among other prominent personalities.

The award recognised Keyamo’s standing and contributions to society, according to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Mr Tunde Moshood.

The recognition highlighted the relationship between faith, leadership and public service, particularly the role of Christian values in promoting responsibility, service and commitment to the common good.

CAN’s golden jubilee marks 50 years of efforts to foster unity among Christians and contribute to national development.

The anniversary also provides an opportunity for the association to reflect on its achievements and renew its commitment to promoting unity, peace, spiritual growth and constructive engagement in Nigeria’s development.

The ceremony featured the recognition of distinguished individuals as part of activities commemorating the milestone in the history of the Christian body.
