The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has completed the reconstruction of three collapsed 132kV transmission towers, restoring electricity transmission along the Karu-Keffi-Akwanga line.

TCN disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, Oct. 28, saying the reconstruction of towers T78, T79 and T80 was completed at 5:31 p.m.

The company said the restoration re-established the transmission pathway serving the 132/33kV Keffi and Akwanga Transmission Substations.

According to TCN, the towers collapsed on Oct. 7 following heavy rainfall and strong winds, disrupting the affected transmission infrastructure.

It said its maintenance crew worked to reconstruct the damaged towers and restore the line.

TCN reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining and strengthening its transmission infrastructure to ensure the reliable and efficient transmission of bulk electricity across the country.

The restoration is expected to support the continued transmission of electricity through the affected substations.
