LAGOS, NIGERIA – Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd, operator of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), says it began a facility assessment amid water leakage in the ticketing hall on Tuesday.

Mrs Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Bi-Courtney’s Head of Corporate Communications disclosed this in a statement in Lagos.

Yinka-Olawuyi explained that the terminal experienced temporary water leakage due to unusual rainfall.

She added that heavy rainfall and abnormal wind patterns directed water toward previously unaffected structural elements, creating pressure conditions.

This caused rainwater to force through weatherproofing systems that had previously performed well during other weather events.

The terminal’s maintenance department responded swiftly, and water removal operations have since been completed.

Yinka-Olawuyi confirmed that the terminal remained open and operational, with the affected area fully restored.

She also stated that a comprehensive facility assessment is underway to prevent similar incidents during future extreme weather events.
