The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has promised to promote the National Artificial Intelligence Collective Industry (NAICI) through its Artificial Intelligence Robotics Summit.
The NAICI is a community of practice that will support strategy implementation while ensuring ethics and safety remain central to AI deployment in the country.
The President, NCS, Dr Muhammad Aliyu, said in a statement that the summit is a call for action on the way forward for robotics and AI in the country.
Aliyu said that would highlight the need for strategic adoption of AI driven solutions to address real world challenges in Africa.
“We believe Africa has the talent and creativity to lead in the global AI revolution.
‘’This summit is a platform to spark collaboration, drive policy dialogue, and inspire innovation that works for our people.
‘’Participation is open to professionals, students, and anyone with an interest in the future of technology’’, he said.
According to him, the summit which will be held Owerri has as its theme: Enabling Artificial Intelligence Systems for Rapid National Growth.
He said the minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, and Gov. Hope Uzodinma of Imo among others would deliver papers at the event.
Recall that Tijani recently inaugurated the National Artificial Intelligence Collective Industry (NAICI) in Lagos.
He had said it would be useful in areas such as healthcare, agriculture and security and economic development.
