The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a six-hour scheduled maintenance at the 132/33kV Katampe 1 Transmission Substation, which will affect electricity supply to parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger.

TCN, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the maintenance would take place on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The exercise will involve maintenance of bay switchgears and associated equipment on the Katampe-Gwarimpa 132kV Line II.

The company said the maintenance would prevent the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) from off-taking electricity for onward supply to customers in the affected areas during the period.

Areas expected to experience the disruption include parts of Kubwa, FO1, Gbazango, Byazin, Byazin Across, Dutse Alhaji, Dutse Makaranta, Ushafa and Bwari.

Other affected locations are parts of Suleja, Kaduna Road, Sabon Wuse, Dikko, Madalla, Zuba, Dakwa and Tugan Maji, as well as their environs.

TCN apologised to electricity customers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the maintenance exercise might cause.
