LAGOS, NIGERIA – The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has informed the general public of a temporary closure of Runway 18R/36L at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
The closure would be from 3.00 a.m., March 3 through 11.59 p.m. of march 4.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, FAAN, Mrs Obiageli Orah late Sunday evening.
According to Orah, the closure is due to ongoing rehabilitation work (asphalt phase) at the A2 Taxiwaylink of the runway.

She said this is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the runway remains in optimal condition.
“There will be no disruption to flight operations during this period, as all flights would be redirected to the alternative runway, 18L/36R.”
She reiterate FAAN’s committment to it’s core values of Safety, Security and Comfort.

Meanwhile, InforealityNews reports that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, paid a working visit to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in preparation of the commencement of comprehensive renovation at the airport.
