Air Peace has appointed Captains James Adaviruku Onipe and Ikechukwu Paul-Ugochukwu as Director of Flight Operations and Chief Pilot, respectively, effective Nov. 1.

The airline said the appointments were aimed at strengthening its leadership capacity, deepening operational expertise and supporting its expanding operations.

Onipe, who currently serves as the airline’s Embraer 145 Fleet Manager, Trainer and Check Airman, has almost two decades of experience across multiple aircraft fleets.

His expertise covers flight safety, crew proficiency, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Paul-Ugochukwu, on his part, has 22 years of experience in the aviation industry and currently serves as a Boeing 777 Type Rating Instructor and Check Airman.

In his current role, he contributes to pilot training, technical proficiency and the maintenance of operational standards.

The appointments follow the elevation of the outgoing Director of Flight Operations, Capt. Augustin Kamano, and former Chief Pilot, Capt. Martin Okunpolor, to higher positions within the Air Peace Group.

According to the airline, the changes reflect its commitment to recognising experience, promoting career progression and strengthening its leadership pipeline.

Air Peace said it remained focused on developing aviation professionals, maintaining operational standards and building the leadership capacity required to sustain its growth.

The airline congratulated the newly appointed officers and expressed confidence in their ability to advance its operational objectives.
